◆Objective
For building, maintaining and utilizing leisure resources, and for the need of promoting the industry development, Leisure Resource and Industry Development Center converges the resources of many departments in order to display the overall benefit.
◆Mission
1. To plan and converge the research and promotion service in the leisure resources and industrial development.
2. To plan researches on the development of leisure resources and industry.
3. To enhance the relationship between the university and the industry.
4. To conduct the related issues of leisure resources and industry development.
◆Sections
1. Leisure Resource Group:
(1) Exploitation, utilization, and management of leisure resources (including cultural, natural, landscape, and industry resources)
(2) Construction of the leisure environment
2. Industry Development Group: Management of leisure industry (production, marketing, labor, research and development, finance, etc.)
3. Industry-University Cooperation Group: Communication and cooperation with the industry.
◆General Description
Ilan, where the university locates, possesses many unique ecological resources and elegant natural sceneries. It is a beautiful and environment-benign county in which the residents and the governor have strong will to protect the environment. The most noted environmental features of Ilan are natural and scenic resources, and for industry development, are leisure agriculture and ecological tourism.
Ilan university comprises agricultural technology and management departments, and has played a prominent character in local agriculture promotion and development. Based on the close relationship between the university and local industry of the passed 17 years, Leisure Resource and Industry Development Center cooperates the faculty and courses from department of Applied Economics of College of Humanities and Management and department of Natural Resources, Horticulture, and Animal Science of College of Biological Resources to found creative development on teaching, researches, and social services.
The intention of the center includes:
1. To achieve sustainable utilization of environmental resources with the application of technology and management which imply sustainable idea
and are in accordance to the nationalization, informatization, and sustainabilization trends of the 21th centry.
2. To create elegant residential environment based on the idea of sustaining utilization and interdisciplinary environmental survey results of Taiwan.
3. To construct the multi-linkage among technology, society, humility, nature, and environment in coincident with the goal of sustainable
utilization environmental resources which imply the management of natural resources, cultural resources, and ecological environment.
4. To incorporate ecological concepts with actual daily live and residential environment by focusing on the planning and implement of sustainable
management principles.
5. To polish the regional residential spiritual profoundness by providing neo-cultural element to traditional objects, especially the traditional
wooden and/or bamboo music instruments, and the combination of local industry, leisure activities, and culture.
6. To render students creative learning approaches by providing inter-college curriculum and possible industry practice opportunities.
7. Technical cooperation forthcoming:
(1) Environment and resources management planning and evaluation for the government and industry which may include suggestions on
environmental policy, community development, scenic ecology, natural and cultural resource restorations. Also, to provide students
practice opportunity for their career preparation.
(2) Cooperation of student practice and industrial development by providing students practical experiences of rendering knowledge from
books into practical uses and the industry the feedbacks from the students and management strategy from the assembly of idea
cross- streaming.
8. Continuing education forth coming are:
Incorporate with regional community to provide short-term training and community progressing learning courses. Hitherto, incorporate
environment planning into residential daily lives.
(1) Providing individual case design and planning by the request of clients as promotion model.
(2) Providing conferences on environmental resources and natural ecology to bring up people capable of environmental resources planning
and evaluation and personnel with sustainable developing ecological concept.
(3) Providing continuing education courses on environmental subjects.
(4) Fulfilling fundamental civilian education by providing ecology summer camps for students from elementary and junior high schools.
(5) Constructing website, providing related information and counseling services.

1. Providing well-trained personnel that can carry on their expertise on natural, cultural, and environmental resources to maximize the benefit
of sustaining development through rational utilization, distribution, and conservation of regional resources.
2. Providing environment management theory and strategy by researches carried and managers with sustaining development concept by
continuing education promoted, to render a sustaining progress on resources management of Taiwan.
3. Fostering talent manager with sustaining natural and cultural development concept and capable of ecology tourism and residential
environment planning.
4. Promoting the leisure tourism concept of ecology, culture, and livelihood coordination, rendering the consumer high quality leisure
recreation, the supplier, while managing their leisure recreation business along with residential culture, improvement of regional livelihood
quality.
